Yup, just use the link to download the RUU update (100mb, slow download too) and then run it. I only had a problem when I was using my Windows 7 system and the drivers were not working right. So, I had a system with Windows XP (Vista I think works as well) to install HTC Sync software first (located on phone's SD Card) and then run the RUU program to update the phone. I know it sounds odd, but it worked for me.
