Help please

I am new at this; this is my first post ever. I have a HTC Magic from Rogers
but I’m using it with Telus, I have this phone for a few weeks now and its always freezing, no matter what I do, go to home page, using it in a hurry and it freeze can take it
I get an activity home in process android.process.acore is not responding error. This happens which I close an app or come out to got back to the Home Screen. What do I do???????
I've been advised to reset run a Factory reset on my HTC Magic, although its started again, I've not got many apps installed and its really doing my head in, e[size="3"][font="Calibri"]specially when I need to use it in a hurry, its even crashed on me when just using sending a TEXT or dial functions.
If I reset to Factory Reset will it relock it back to Rogers????
