Have you tried rebooting? Basically shut it down & pull the battery for 2-3 minutes. There's another way as well- search the forums. Sorry- I can't remmeber
If I were you, I would remove EVERY app I DL'ed THEN do the battery pull. Then add the apps in one by one. Wait a day or so between apps. If you reinstall an app and all of a sudden your phone act up again it may be a sign that it's the app that caused problems. Remove it, and then try another app.
If this doesn't help, then it might be a lemon, frankly. There have been bad batches. Not sure if 40/09 is one of them
