This method works, but make sure that you are trying to transfer a .vcf file. My old Motorola droid didn't export contacts in that file format. My infiniti g37 would always fail to transfer.
My new Droid X doesn't have an export contacts feature, so I just logged into the gmail account that is synced to my phone and exported the contacts from there as a .vcf file. Then I put this on the sd card on my phone and it transfered to my G37 for the first time perfectly. All of my other attempts to transfer .csv files failed.
It should work for all the Infiniti and Nissan cars that were having troubles.
