Might be worth taking it to a phone repairer person to get it cleaned.

So where are the water damage markers on the galaxy?
I've explained what happened, what I did, how it is now to a repair place and they've quoted me £25 to repair which is dead good. Sounds like its not that badly damaged and just needs cleaning up....
