well... and as we say: tastes are different. fortunately.
but after seeing the latest htc windowsmobile devices i just was quite disapointed by the g1 hardware and software design.

and if you think OPEN means that you can write your own applications: you could do that for any java-able device out there. if its my 4 year old cellphone or the housemanager which closes my parents windowshades at night. OPEN to me means i can choose whatever provider/carrier, software or hardware i like. of course every hardware needs itīs drivers to be able to be used by software...
for my pc i can choose if i like a intel or an amd cpu, an ati or a nvidia graphics card, there are dozens of ram manufacturers. then i choose if i want to run xp or vista or even ubuntu. and then, a totally diffrent desicion: i choose if i want cable- dsl- or whatever internet.

but if google want to do it like jobs...
