This is true. The problem with it is that:
a) It is overpriced! Buy it on Craigslist.
b) Why would I have to have it unlocked? Why would I have to go through the danger of bricking it while rooting?

I think HTC would make a lot more $$ if they simply sold the hw.

That was that "I know, I know". They are and aren't. When it comes to treating the customers they certainly don't act as the same company.
In fact when I told them that I unlocked and took it to Fido, they looked at it almost as a crime!
