Thanks for the reinstall info. what will happen when i turn sync back on?

Right now I am clean, no google account an no sync. Thumbs are populating nicely.

I don't personally own an ipod and probably never will as Itunes is not something I'm willing to put up with for any device. I also do not own an Iphone but I do have easy access to all 3 generations as my wife's entire family/extended family own them. The 3GS is the fastest out of the 3 obviously and when I compare gallery scrolling to it I see very little difference. In fact my brother-in-law actually said pictures appear slightly sharper on the Droid, likely attributable to the higher resolution.

As for efficiency I think that is a matter of personal opinion. I personally have no use for pinch to zoom etc as I only have 1 hand. Therefore I appreciate the double tap as well as the ability to click the arrow with my finger to navigate back and forth.

All that said, the European version of the Droid has been demonstrated to have pinch to zoom, screen swiping to flip through pics etc. That tells me one of two things. Either Motorola has decided the US shouldn't get it for some reason or due to time constraints the Droid was released first and an update will bring us up to the same level of functionality as the Euro version sometime in the near future.

Either way, the Droid will be rooted. It's just a matter of time, and once that happens you'll have more of what you want either as an official update or as an unofficial one.
