Well, Hi guys and gals. I just upgraded from a Nokia 2670 to the Galaxy i7500. Chose that particular phone 'cause I was able to get it without the DATA package. I'm not into the Twitter/Facebook stuff. I'm at my computer at home a lot, so I don't need nor want email, ect.
Anyways,
I have found that the i7500 is not the easiest phone to get set up the way I want it to. For instance, it took me almost a week to figure out how to move my files from the ROM to my desktop (iMac). I have the phone paired but not connected via bluetooth to my iMac, and can see but can't get past my wireless router using wifi. I called Samsung, but found their tech support just about as smart as I am about this phone. They couldn't even tell me how to connect my phone via usb!

I figured that out myself.
Found this forum and have been reading around a bit and will look into rooting it. I want to "loose" some of the google apps (google maps, talk, gps). One thing I can't seem to find info on is the sound recorder. When I look at the applications folder, I find a "sound recorder" app, but I can't see how to start it or put a shortcut on my phone's "desktop".
I'm sure I'm not the first to ask these q's so I'll keep looking. 'Course, if you point me in the right direction, I'd be indebted to you.
Thanks.
