I bought the droid the day it became available, I got the 2 year contract, knowing that I will more than likely be upgrading after 1 year using the annual discount deal. I'm assuming a year from now, there will be something great, either the IPhone, or Droid 5.0, or something, hopefully on 4G LTE...
