Why doesn't someone come up with an app that replicates this?
1) Give the app your voicemail passcode.
2) When you have a new voicemail (do the apps have access to this info? If not, call every x minutes to poll), call the voicemail automatically, record/download the messages
3) Voilą! Display messages as visual voicemail
4) Occasionally sync back up to delete messages that user has deleted from Visual Voicemail
I'd pay $5 for this.
Has anyone already done anything like this, maybe?

is call forwarding free through verizon? you could have unanswered calls forwarded to a google voice number, and then get the google voice app on your phone.
