How do I make a backup of my phone as is right now? I've read something about bootstrap but what does that actually mean? Does that create a backup of my phone and also installs ROMs on my phone? Where do I get the bootstrap application? Sorry for Noob questions...
Search "bootstrap" in the Android Market, download and install Droid X Recovery.
Once installed, go into the application
Allow it superuser rights
Touch "Bootstrap Recovery"
Wait for it to say "success", touch "OK"
Touch "Reboot Recovery"
Let it reboot
Use volume keys to navigate, camera key to select
Go into "backup and restore"
Select backup and create a backup.

That backup will be exactly what your phone is and has right now. No themes or roms...just what you have.
Remember, when you flash that backup, all you will have is what was in that backup (example, any texts or phone calls you've made since will not be there, apps will revert to that point in time and will require updating again).
