I just had the same deal tonight. Working fine one minute. Put in my pocket, took out 5 minutes later, then nothing. Went through same steps as you, and removing battery allowed it to start up again.
Once it started up, seemed like the (back, menu, etc) buttons weren't lighting up at first, even when launching a couple of apps. After a few minutes, they finally came on. Odd.
Worries me.
What happens if this thing dies after 30 day window? Are we SOL?
