I have manually created my SSID when the network is hidden. When I do this it still cannot see the network
. It says below the network "not in range, remembered" even though I'm sitting right beside the router so there is no issue with signal strength.
I temporarily broadcast the SSID and the Desire connected no problem. I downloaded WiFi analyzer and Hidden SSID enabler from the Android market.
With the SSID hidden and the network turned on WiFi analyzer cannot pick up my network. With Hidden SSID enabler I type in the SSID of my network when I have the WiFi turned on on the phone to no effect. It does not connect me to my WiFi network.
The only thing I can put it down to is some sort of incompatability between the router and the phone. The phone is running Android 2.2 if that is any help.
