Is it thought? If Rogers/Telus requested HTC to create a custom ROM for them, is it realistic to expect HTC to support (perpetually) upgrades to those custom ROMs as well? Imagine all carriers in the world having a deal like that.. HTC would lose some serious $. HTC probably gave Rogers the choice - if you want a custom ROM, we will only provide you with base release updates (ie. bugfixes) - if you want anything beyond that, you need to pay for development, testing, deployment, etc.
Buying a phone from the carrier is nothing but headaches. This whole Android thing is doomed in Canada unless the Nexus is real and can be used here.
