Actually HTC may remove restriction from ROMs created for other carriers (T-Mobile for example) and allow download them for free. I don't care about T-Mobile logo during device boot.

That brings up a good point, which I haven't seen being mentioned much. Why doesn't HTC release a generic 1.6 ROM that works on the HTCs that Rogers sells? We know they exist. they would work for other carriers as well! (Unless of-course our hardware has been cusotmized for Rogers too wtf?) Who cares about Rogers branded crap. Give your customers choice. My guess is that either HTC wants Rogers to pay for it regardless or HTC and Rogers have an agreement that prevents this from happening.
