Note... I am not advocating the repeated and purposeful bricking of your phones, but if it does happen... play stupid (even if it hurts your ego) and send it in for repair... er replacement.
If there is no resolution by the time I get back from holidays, I plan to do my own upgrade. This is out of necessity because I am getting into trouble with the wife because of constant dropped calls and occasional complete loss of reception.

Sadly to say but i don't want this to be an excuse for them for putting up bug fix for 1.5
