I use Sound Taxi (under $30) to convert the .aa audible.com files into mp3 format. It doesn't take that long to convert. I think it took about 45 minutes to convert a 6 hour audible book. Just let it convert while you're doing something else.

Then I use a free app I got from Market called Astro Player -- it has bookmarks. I'm in business, no problems. I would prefer it if Audible.com would make droid compatible, but until that happens, this is an easy work-around.
