If you want to keep your stock Rogers ROM (baseband, etc) and are willing to root, then you can install a custom ROM which has Acer UI such as FroyoMetal- CDTeam FroYoMetal V2.75 11/12/2010 - Android @ MoDaCo
or Liquid Community ROM- LCR Community Rom - News
To install a custom ROM:
1) Install MalezRecovery- acer-liquid-malez-recovery - Project Hosting on Google Code
. Use this for Rogers/Fido phones- Rogers/Fido? Froyo Malez Recovery Fix! - Android @ MoDaCo
2) Download the .zip file for the ROM you want to flash and place it in the root of your SDCard.
3) Reboot into MalezRecovery (instructions for that on the Google Code website for MalezRecovery). A good idea would be to go to the "Backup/Restore Menu" first and create a Nandroid backup. It is a smart move to always have a Nandroid backup in your SDCard in the case that something goes wrong.
4) Select "Flash/Test .zip" and then flash (if the zip is signed, should say signed in title flash regularly, if not, then flash without sign check)
5) Reboot and voila
