I bet you since the DROID is doing so well in sales, that motorola will continue to update it (2.1, 2.x 3.0 and maybe one more) due to them being the ones who update it. I bet you we will continue to get the updates for this one to not be "outdated" at least in software. The processor should be fine for at least a year or so..
