I just spoke to a co-worker and he just got the HTC Magic about 5 days ago. It sounds like some retailers are still grossly misinformed about the update issue. He got his phone from a Future Shop in Ottawa.(I'm not sure which one) He stated the salesperson there told him that "The phone will be updated soon so that you will be able to get turn by turn directions from your GPS".
I don't think he was too impressed when I pointed out iwantmyonepointsix.com to him. I think he may try to return the phone.
I'd like to say that Rogers should ensure that those retailers that sell phones on their behalf are giving consumers correct information, but who are we kidding. Most of the time Rogers own employees don't even have the correct information.
