From what I have been told if you use the "quick settings" app to get around the sprint hot spot lock, then sprint cannot tell the difference on your account. They see it as normal internet usage as if it were just comming from your phone internet. Not what ever you are tethered to.
Thanks. Ive used the hotspot on occasion at my house when the cable internet is down but I havent had any kind of reliable way of making sure that my bill isnt going to skyrocket due to them red flagging my acct for a resent spike in data usage. With how much I pay for my cable internet I could pay the sprint hotspot charge and still save hundreds of dollars per year.
