Thanks Doogald, but I am already past that point.
I frequently go to "settings->applications->manage applications"
and clear caches after I sort by size.

For the "Facebook by Android" app there is of course the "clear cache" button, but then there is only a "uninstall updates" button, but no option to uninstall the app itself which is very odd.
