So...

The price the customer is asked to pay for a no contract is not the same as the price Rogers pays the original manufacturer.

This is why a Blakberry that has a NO-contract-cost of $599 is offered to people whereas an Iphone (with a a no-contract-cost of $580 is not offered

That's also why Wind sells the same Blackberry 9700 for $450 (closer to the actual cost but still with a markup) while rogers sells it for $599.
