GBD you are 100% correct. I had not contacted HTC directly because by the time I was mad enough at rogers multiple people in this forum had contacted HTC directly and to be honest I didn't see the point.
To use my car dealership analogy further. If I was not happy about the quality of the break pads that were installed on my car during manufacturing then it is a bit of a toss up as to where I will get the most bang for my complaining buck. I think that the best way is to get several people to complain to the dealership then get the dealership to lean on Dodge. I know this to be true because I used to write software for a now defunct telecommunications company (who's former name rhymes with whoretel). If a single customer complained that the voice mail didn't work the way that they wanted we would tell them to push off, but if bell or telus came to us and wanted the same change we would damn near break a leg running to the source code to make the change.
You are completely free to complain to whom you want to, I just feel the best bang for the buck is to lean on rogers and let rogers lean on HTC. just my opinion, but as we all know opinions are like butt holes, everyone has one
