Default MID 7015 Wifi weak and hardly works

Is this a problem with Android or the tablet itself? it seems to be a problem with all Android units no matter who makes them or if they be a phone, tablet or even Nook. i hear Archos has similar problems. it all works fine and keeps working fine if you reboot the device a few times (and sit and wait, seems slow to boot) but it never connects even to a saved network without help. and NEVER connects if it drops the network. it will just say 'unsuccessful' or 'not in range' (even if you are next to the antenna lol) until another reboot or two. or three. other than that it's a great tablet. offline music playback (i LOVE music Everyday app!) is wonderful, battery life is superb, just wifi sucks. it kinda is sad since without at least ethernet functions it sorts becomes a paperweight or large MP3 Player if you download with Linux and then sync.

Edit: unrelated but does anyone else have the lock-up or lost touchscreen problem if you put the device in stand-by (not power off)? mine either requires a reset (hard freeze) or loses touchscreen feature on the lock screen.
