Not true for me. I have HTC Sync installed and use PDAnet on my Vista laptop all the time.

I upgraded to the paid version for access to HTTPS sites and I haven't yet encountered a site I couldn't access. Of course that's only
my experience - there are still a number of sites on the internet I haven't visited.
