The 30 day test period is for you to evaluate the phone/service and cancel if you are unhappy. Once you get past 30 days, you are basically accepting that the service is acceptable to you.

If you were canceling at 31 or 32 days, you might be able to get away with it. I have seen it being done at 31 days. But if you let it slide, I do not think you will have much of a case.

You can try fighting with collections about the cancellation fee. They may give you a small break. But otherwise you are most most probably going to see a negative mark on your credit report.
