Is this method still considered the preferred way to gain root access without brick conversion, or is using the super user zipped exploit a better way?
Also, by rooting the Droid, do you lose the ability to receive automatic updates? I personally think the Droid has been a huge disappointment, so I'm looking for things to do to make it a little more interesting before I dump it and buy another phone that actually works.
