3's Official Tethering Policy
3's official tethering policy
According to the 3's Terms of Service (ToS) available at Smallprint - Three
3's official policy about tethering is
For use on your smartphone only. Want to tether your phone to use as a modem with your laptop? Choose an ‘Add Internet Max’ or ‘Add Internet and Email’ Add-on instead.
Currently, we are unable to support either of these add-ons with all-you-can-eat on this plan.
All-you-can-eat data on our Talk or Text plans does not support tethering. If you would like to tether, please choose an alternative option: you can tether on (i) The One Plan; (ii) the One Plan SIM only; or (iii) By purchasing a Talk or Text plan without All-you-can-eat data and buying a tethering add on instead (Add Internet Max or Add Internet and email).
Key Pay As You Go Terms and Conditions...When using data, tethering a phone to a laptop for internet use, using the SIM in a Mobile Broadband Device or using hotspot functionality is not included.
Currently because 3 does not allow tethering without a specific plan if you wish to tether please sign up for the appropriate plan using the links below.
If you are a Pay As You Go customer currently there are no options to tether using your existing contract. If you need mobile internet you can sign up for a Mobile Broadband plan and purchase the required hardware using the link below.
