Yes, but dont let that stop you from rooting. You can always undo the root. And what Varun meant is, the firmware released by LG will have their own customizations (you gotta admit, the LG home screen sucks, samsung one rocks) and a lot of crappy useless apps preinstalled. Custom ROMs are much faster and bugs are removed much faster too.
