When I bought my phone, it was already 2.2.1. I later updated to 2.2.2. That must be the update you are talking about. Plus, I called up the lg service center. They told me to go there sometime during first week of September. And they specified it was 2.3. So I guess the update is officially out, but maybe the guys at the service center didn't get it yet... Anyway, they specifically mentioned it was 2.3.
P.S. Dont listen to the fools at lg customer care. They have been saying the gingerbread update is out even before I bought my phone.
