I got this same problem after loading the v2.3 update to my HTC Inspire.
HTC & ATT are replacing my phone under warranty. [I've posted my story in the Inspire forum here. I don't know how to share that link.]

From what I'm reading, it might be that a replacement phone won't help with this problem. Might a replacement SIM card help things?
