True, adjusting the slot index cycle effects the way the phone interacts with "the system" but, nonetheless, the Hero certainly does have an issue with ringer lag that clearly does not exist (to this extent) with other Sprint phones operating on the same "system."

This has been verified by many Sprint users already. It is completely UNTRUE that all phones on the Sprint network experience this same lag. Just watching the Hero react to an incoming call tells you all you need to know. Everything happens in stages.
