Default Are you looking for THE BEST ROM? look here.

I've noticed a lot of people recently asking for the best ROM to put on their sexy Desire.
Well the thing is, there is no "best" one to use as the ROMS generally fall into a few categories each with its own pros and cons. ( which by the way are completely dependent on the user)

I'll try describe the ROMS that I've used, that way I can say from personal experience.

Here goes:

SENSE.

A sense ROM is what your phone came with, all the widgets, the slide down lock screen.
Does everything but has a sucky battery life.

Also new sense 3.0 which are pretty much the same just with more Glam.

AOSP (Android open source project)

As a whole, these ROMS are fast and have excellent battery life.
They don't use Sense and to me, seem a lot more customizable from the get go.
Only con I know is that the Camera ain't 720p due to (correct me if I'm wrong) the base android code being a somewhat generic for all android phones.

MIUI.

My personal favourite.

Has a very similar look to the Iphone
But the speed of a AOSP ROM.
I think Miui is actually an AOSP ROM just with a custom launcher and menus.
Once again, no 720p camera again, no sense widgets either but nothing you can't replace from the market.

I hope this helps some of you looking to put a new ROM or replace the ROM on their phone.

Enjoy.
