I don't know but pages load on my laptop tethered to the Nexus via pdanet and EDGE a HECK of a lot faster than my Nexus does alone using EDGE. It's strange. I use EDGE on my Nexus and it's, well, just EDGE...not horribly slow, but not 3G, either. I tether the Nexus to my laptop via pdanet and my laptop just flies. It flies normally via wifi but it doesn't seem like that much of a dropoff going to tethering. I also made sure and disconnected from my home wifi....also tested multiple times.
