I have the galaxy S and it doesn't have
Google Apps to clear.
Instead, I have:
Google backup transport, Google calender sync, google contacts sync, google partner set up, google search and google service framework.
I cleared them all and it didn't help.
I can't delete the account even that I have a new one.
