Does the goldcard for you, roots, radio s-off, sim unlock etc all with one script. Looking at the thread, it works for a lot of people and I think I might try it out.

Not sure... changing the radio can be a big deal if you do it without enough battery power, as that is how you can end up with a brick.
Rooting is actually not that difficult - especially using the newer methods (if you're already on Gingerbread)... seems to be a lot easier than when I rooted.
If you do that and the radio isn't right, you can always flash a different radio once you're rooted... again, by all accounts, that isn't as hard as it sounds, just a bit daunting for first timers!
