Works like a charm for me. Good luck y'all!!
Note to anyone reading this...this ONLY works with the "personal dictionary"...that is, the one where you the user have accepted/added words to the dictionary. If you are trying to get rid of the word "Italy" that is in SWYPE'S non-user/non-customizable dictionary because it is always suggested when you try to swype "initially" then you're out of luck!!

Also, in the latest beta, the ENTIRE "custom" personal dictionary can be viewed and edited in the settings/preferences section of Swype located at Home....Menu...Settings...Language & Keyboard..Swype Settings...Personal Dictionary. There you can BULK delete words or add right from settings rather than in a text area your are swyping.
