Change of plans- went to the store today and I decided that I didn't need the physical keyboard on the Droid, so I'm going with the Droid Eris because the rep told me that theyre rolling out a 2.0 update for it in q1.
this is a pretty noobish question, but how / why do I root it? Will i need to root it to put third party applications such as a file manager on it?
