Default Q: For Bell Canada phones

For Bell Canada users (I7500L):
Has anyone unlocked their phone for $75 via Bell? Or perhaps via a 3rd party?
if so...
If it's successfully unlocked... should you then be able to apply various firmwares?

Here's my situation:
I brought my Bell phone to a 3rd party for unlocking. They successfully unlocked the phone, and verified with Rogers SIM. Bell SIM still also works. (Still running BMIK6).

I go home and without fully thinking things thru, do a full II5 update, then L3 update... etc... Haven't been able to get Bell voice or data since.

As it sits right now, with the L3 Hong/Kong firmware, I'm able to get voice (haven't tried data) with a Rogers sim.

My bell sim does not find any network.

Demo sim @ Bell store does the same as my own personal sim.

Have I bricked my phone by changing the AMSS portion?
Why would a Rogers sim work, and not a Bell?
