For me there are several issues here.

First, quite honestly Verizon should not be required to announce any release date until they are ready. If they do make an official announcement and are unable to stand by that, people here will be more than mad. What has happened here over the past few months is nothing.

Second, all of the information we have been following the past few weeks is largely unofficial and not directly from Verizon. Therefore, I cannot blame them for what we all perceive as being “slow” based on all these leaks. Speculation is fun, but it’s speculation none-the-less.

The main problem that I have, and likely will not find an answer to, is why. If Verizon is dragging their feet for marketing/money-making/strategic purposes alone, I would be more upset. If other issues are delaying the release date (which for some reason I have a hard time believing), I would have no reason to complain.

Yet it is a little frustrating that the SGN is soon being released EVERYWHERE but here. Would I like to know a definite release date? Yes. But to me it matters more why we are actually sitting and waiting—I’m very willing to wait patiently if there’s a real, non-manufactured reason beyond “we’re just not ready.”

This all being said, business is business and Verizon is just another business. Will I abandon them for another carrier? Probably not since they have the best service where I live. However, after going through the whole DINC release process, this is getting a little old...

I understand this is a cut-throat competitive industry, but we just want our phone!
