I also would like to stop the update message. I am afraid one of my children will hit update. I need my hand held on this. I am new to root. I rooted and downgraded to 2.2. Once I get a rom, which do you suggest, how do you proceed? I have read over and over this thread but it is over my head. Thank you.

Can I do this without buying root explorer?
