I've had my Esteem for about a month and a half and I was experiencing freezing and random reboots. It was nothing major, it would reboot only about once or twice a week and freeze on occasion where I had to reboot the phone myself. Well, about two weeks ago I bought the extended battery from Verizon. Now, I never really equated the two together but, thinking back, the phone never had that problem since I started using the extended battery. The only reason it came to light was, today, for the first time since I bought it, I took out the extended battery and put the stock battery back in because I forgot to charge overnight and didn't have time this morning so I figured I'd slap in the old battery since I fully charged it before I put in the new one. Well, about an hour ago my phone completely froze up on me and I had to reboot it. That's when the fact that I haven't had any problems since I started using the extended battery hit me. I think some of these issues could be stemming from these phones having bad batteries and no matter how many times you return the phone, if they put your old battery in the new phone, you're going to keep having the same problems. As soon as I get home this battery is going in the garbage can!

As a matter of fact Metro DOES put your old battery in the new phone. My first one killed itself on like day 3 doing some download on its own, at first they werent going to give me a phone on the spot. Said the had to order one because replacements and new are 2 different stocks. Well after I showed my dis-approval" for having to wait since I just bought the phone 3 days before they ended up giving me one out of the "new phone stock" and only thing I got out of that whole box was the phone and they actually kept even the BOX and CUT off the bar codes for me to beable to send off for my rebate. And I even brought everything that came with my first one in there with me. But I have never once had a reboot problem..
