I think the connection works with the 3-pin assembly. See 0:40 on the video to confirm that a "Micro USB to HDMI MHL" cable will plug into the back of the dock. Then you'll just need a
"splitter" like this one (but for the Nexus) to allow for a charger and connection to TV. Of course worst case scenario, you could do the same thing without the dock.
