Correct. Nexus came a good couple months after and the Incredible was a solid 5 months after. If you didn't want to pay full price, the Bionic was really the first "upgrade" option (using the term upgrade loosely since I think if I had a choice, I'd still pick my OG Droid--I love the screen!).\
Also, keep in mind, the OG Droid is as close to a Nexus device as possible on Verizon- No skin, fastest with the updates while they happened.
