Default Bluetooth with Android (Magic) phone

My question: has anyone found a way to make an android phone work in a "hands-free" mode, without having to touch the screen?

I bought an HTC Magic phone yesterday from Rogers. It has a "Voice Command" application built in and it works well. However, in response to a command such as "call Jim" it presents a screen which you must then touch in order to call (only one option if there is only one number for Jim, several options if you have Jim at work, Jim office, etc.).

But here's the problem. There is no way that ANY of my bluetooth headsets can get around the fact that I have to touch the screen. And, since there is no speed dial feature on the 'phone, I can't use the inbuilt voice commands of my BlueAnt V1.
