Former lurker, first time poster.

It has been suggested above that the desire will be Verizon's N1. I can't see this being true because Google would see no benefit from this, and I can't imagine that Google has anything invested in HTC's Desire. I wish it was possible, but I just don't see it happening.

As for specs and 720p: would shooting HD video using 256MB RAM be painfully choppy? In the end, if it's possible to run android and HD video using relatively little memory, I feel that it would definitely be something Verizon would pull. After all, how many consumers actually look at the specs of a phone. At the absolute most, I would say the average consumer might look at the processor speed. It's been said before, but a dealbreaker for us is something the average consumer probably doesn't even pay attention to.

I'm amazed at how optimistic most of you are! I for one assumed we wouldn't hear anything at MWC, and I'm very doubtful that we'll see anything in stores until early summer. Maybe some news will emerge at CTIA, but I can envision a distant release date being announced. Sorry, just how I am...
