They're probably just monitoring all the rooting developers so they can take the best of the the best and give us that.
Probably all just sitting around the pool sipping margarita's watching the forums, and every now and then they say, oh it looks like this xxxx guy is on to something, maybe we should try that. Free R & D.
EDIT, now that I think of it, the only thing left is to get the 2.1 launcher running stable. Watch the forums, when 2.1 launcher is stable, we'll see the release.
