I recently purchased a second hand Wildfire for 60 for my wife (I have the DHD) she has never had a touch screen phone before and is not that technically minded, this phone has proved a fantastic introduction for here and posed very few problems for a learner, so to speak.
She uses facebook and a few games and the like and is perfectly happy as in her own words anything more complicated or technical would be wasted on her.
As she is getting on with it so well I may well get her a more updated phone in future but for the not so tech savvy it can be a great introduction to touch screen phones at very little cost.

As long as you are aware of its limitations and dont expect too much you shouldnt have to many problems.
